I try not to look as I pass the puddings on temptress Peggy Eagle's stall at Whitstable Farmers' Market. I can resist everything except temptation in the pudding department, but with her maxim "occasional indulgence is good for the spirit" ringing in my ears, I deceive myself that a seasonal fruit-based pudding is somehow less wicked. I must confess to having succumbed to her plums with star anise and black pepper, her cream pots with crab apple and rosehip reduction, her avocado and lime pudding and her orange and rosemary creams. |
