After the interval came the Op 119 Bagatelles, first published in London in 1823 but many dating back to earlier years. A couple of these short works are strikingly radical, one of them lasting just a few seconds. Overall, this set felt more refined and gentle, and Osborne’s playing of the second piece was magical in its delicacy. |
