To prevent the minority of Americans from harm inflicted by the majority of Americans, ie. religious discrimination, racial and sex discrimination etc. The purpose was not to punish the administration for attempting to fill vacancies in agencies the minority doesn't happen to like. And please don't insult our intelligence by claiming the appointees are too liberal. I seem to remember GW Bush appointing Neoconservatives, but not many (any) liberals. |
