After some cycling, I’d go and watch Hampstead win a cricket match. It’s very sane for me to be involved in the cricket because it is incredibly blokey and desperately untheatrical. I’ve never actually played much myself; just theatre and pub cricket, and to no great standard because when I was a young actor I lived a very itinerant lifestyle. It was only settling by a cricket club that got me involved – the pitch is at the bottom of our garden. I enjoy all aspects of my role in the club but it does make me a bit frazzled. I should probably learn to delegate better. |
