An immaculately preserved Quaker village of about 80 historic houses, founded in 1733, there are no highway signs marking its location and few people outside Loudoun County know of it. We have spotty internet connection – the doughty members of the preservation movement that maintains the town thought underground cable was too modern an invention – but we do have a Fall Fair, started in 1943 to save the town’s mill, and now in its 70th year. |
