I realized Occupy Wall Street was going to be a big deal while sitting in Zuccotti Park in late September of 2011, struggling to understand what all the hand signals meant. At that point, I was one of just a handful of reporters covering the protests that had begun two years ago today, on Sept. 17, and this was my first time watching the General Assembly, Occupy창��혲s open-to-anyone-there decision-making body where participants use fluttering fingers and other hand gestures to keep order and move the process along. |
